Lana Del Rey Just Released an Official James Bond Theme Song
Lana Del Rey has wanted to do a James Bond theme song for over a decade. On her 2015 album Honeymoon, the track "24 Hours" was written as a possible Bond song for the film Spectre, which was ultimately not picked up by the producers. But now, Del Rey has finally achieved her dream: Her song, "First Light," is the official theme song of the new James Bond video game 007 First Light.
As confirmed by IO Interactive on April 16, 2026, the song is a "collaboration between legendary vocalist Lana Del Rey and iconic James Bond composer David Arnold." Arnold is the famous composer who began scoring Bond movies starting with 1997's Tomorrow Never Dies. His last Bond score was 2008's Quantum of Solace.
Although this song isn't for a new 007 film, this collaboration is historic for another reason: This is only the second time there's been an original James Bond theme song recorded for a game. Back in 2003, Mya recorded the song "Everything or Nothing" for the Bond game James Bond 007: Everything or Nothing.

Del Rey's "First Light" certainly feels like it belongs in an actual James Bond movie. The collaboration with Arnold helps, to be sure, but the lyrics and the massive scope really make you wonder if Amazon MGM would let these two take another crack at a second Bond song for Bond 26 whenever that film comes out.
On Friday, April 17, at 12 pm PT, IO Interactive will host a viewing party to reveal the full opening sequence of 007 First Light, which will feature the new song.
007 First Light Release Date
007 First Light stars Patrick Gibson as a young James Bond, first starting out as a Double O agent. Players will be able to control him in a variety of situations, in a cinematic adventure that is inspired by the larger legacy of the franchise.
The game is set to release on May 27, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 launch this summer.
