Azzi Fudd Asked About Paige Bueckers Relationship—WNBA Reporter Shut Down
The Dallas Wings selected UConn star Azzi Fudd with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA draft on Monday.
This marks the second consecutive year the Wings selected a Huskies guard with their top selection. In 2025, Dallas added UConn basketball legend Paige Bueckers with the team's No. 1 overall pick.
Bueckers and Fudd were close, both on and off the court, during their college basketball careers.
In fact, Bueckers confirmed rumors that she and Fudd were dating with a social media post in the summer of 2025.
But, since Fudd was drafted by the Wings on Monday night, there's been no public discussion regarding the romantic relationship between these WNBA teammates.
Fudd was asked about her relationship with Bueckers during an introductory press conference on Thursday.
The WNBA reporter who asked the question was immediately shut down by Wings PR.
"I understand why you have to ask that question, but we're going to respectfully decline from talking about our player's personal lives. So, next question," a team representative said before Fudd could answer the question.

While Fudd didn't address her personal relationship with Bueckers, she did speak about her on-court relationship with the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year after she was selected No. 1 overall on Monday night.
"Paige is an incredible player, everyone knows that," Fudd said, via ESPN. "She's someone that makes playing basketball with easy."
"I'm excited to play again with Paige," Fudd added in an interview with ESPN's Holly Rowe. "She's an incredible person, an incredible player. It's going to be a lot of fun."
Fudd, Bueckers and the Wings will begin their 2026 WNBA preseason schedule with a matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever on April 30.
