The New 'Jack Ryan' Movie Has an Explosive Trailer and a Fast-Approaching Release Date

One of the most down-to-earth action heroes is back. Following the conclusion of Jack Ryan Season 4, John Krasinski returns as the titular CIA analyst in a new one-off movie that looks to be one of the slickest spy thrillers of 2026. Although there are four seasons' worth of continuity behind Jack Ryan, not to mention countless Tom Clancy books, the new movie, Jack Ryan: Ghost War, is the perfect place to jump back in.

Here's the new full-length trailer for Jack Ryan: Ghost War, plus the release date, the cast, and what we know of the twisty plot.

Jack Ryan: Ghost War Trailer and Plot

Although Ghost War got a teaser trailer earlier this year, this new trailer reveals much more of the plot. Technically, Ryan (Krasinski) is retired from the spy business and gets pulled back in to help combat a group called "Starling," who are agents trained for terror and destruction. Now they've gone rogue, and Ryan has to team up with MI6 operative Emma Marlowe (Sienna Miller), which is a little like pairing Jack Ryan with a female James Bond.

The action in Ghost War will center on New York City, London, and Dubai. Much of the trailer shows car chases and shoot-outs in London, though the scope of the movie is clearly on par with a Bourne or Bond movie.

Crucially, although Ghost War features the return of Wendell Pierce as Jack's boss, James Greer, the movie itself doesn't seem to require the audience to know too much about the show (or the books) ahead of time. Unlike some of the more recent Mission: Impossible movies, this seems like a fast and easy way to enjoy a new Jack Ryanadventure.
