Remand following attempted murder of teen
A 24-year-old man was remanded for seven days by the Larnaca district court on Thursday for the attempted murder of 19-year-old Greek Cypriot.
Police are investigating offences including attempted murder, grievous bodily harm, assault causing serious injury and stabbing against him.
The incident occurred at a costal nightclub in Larnaca last Sunday.
An accidental contact in a crowded space reportedly led to an argument, followed by a physical altercation during which the victim was punched in the face.
The victim later realised he was bleeding and was taken to hospital by his friends.
Doctors found a three-centimetre wound in the kidney area and a raptured kidney caused by a sharp object.
Larnaca CID continues investigations with evidence collected at the scene led to the identification and arrest of the suspect.
