Majawa Engages Media Practitioners, Seeks Input for MISA Malawi Leadership Bid
Renowned Journalist Nathan Majawa has begun engaging fellow journalists and media practitioners as part of his campaign for the position of Vice Chairperson of the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Malawi Chapter.
Majawa, who has officially declared his candidature, said his approach is centred on consultation and inclusivity, aimed at developing a plan that reflects the needs and aspirations of members.
In an interview, Majawa said he is committed to strengthening member participation and ensuring that MISA remains responsive to the evolving challenges in the media sector.
“My focus is on building a more inclusive and sustainable MISA, while also supporting journalists in their professional growth and welfare,” he said.
He added that the engagements are providing valuable insights that will help shape a people-driven agenda.
Majawa has since called for support from media practitioners and stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of collective effort in advancing the interests of the media industry in Malawi.
The MISA Malawi Chapter is a key body in promoting media freedom, professionalism, and development in the country.
The institution is expected to hold its National Governing Council (NGC) elections on May 9, which will usher in new leadership to steer the body for the next three years.
