Phalombe FM set to hit airwaves in May

A new dynamic community radio station, Phalombe FM is set to officially hit the airwaves in May this year from the southern Malawi district of Phalombe.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, Phalombe FM Co-director Kondwani Ngalande said the online-based and the privately owned station is ready to roll out its services next month.
Ngalande said the station is dedicated to amplifying local voices and fostering positive change through informative, entertaining, and educational programming.
“Our team is passionate about creating meaningful connections with our listeners, ensuring every show is relevant and impactful,” Ngalande told Malawi Voice
He added, “We believe every story matters by focusing on the unique experiences of individuals. Therefore, we will ensure our content resonates deeply, making our message authentic and relatable to all”
According to Ngalande Phalombe FM is committed to serve each member of the community with care, respect and be a leading community radio that empowers and transforms lives through access to information and advocacy for social justice and development.
“Our mission is to educate, inform, and entertain communities through inclusive and impactful radio programming that promotes social development, human rights, and sustainable livelihoods,” he said
The station has roped in some renowned radio voices in the country. It will present news coverage, talk show’s, and public interest segments to keep the audience updated on current events and key issues affecting Phalombe district and beyond.
