Why We Love This Deal
Huckberry has been unleashing hundreds of new styles for spring, which means the door is rapidly closing on its warmer fall and winter collection. It's true, better weather is around the corner, but for most of the country, there's still at least another month of cool and, dare we say, chilly weather, before the heat really settles in. That's why the sale on the retailer's canvas jacket is so timely.
The Flint and Tinder Mason Canvas Hooded Bomber Jacket is on sale for $131, a 45% discount from its normal price of $238. It’s available at that price in one colorway, Washed Earth, and a second colorway, Washed Black, is on sale for $167. Crucially, there’s a decent size range in stock—S to XL in at least the Washed Earth color.

The Mason jacket is made from a blended cotton canvas shell that includes a hefty dose of nylon, which offers durability while saving weight, and a touch of spandex, so the material will stretch with you as you move. That’s a notable difference from traditional all-cotton canvas, which typically doesn’t stretch. A quilted nylon lining gives it a smooth and comfortable interior feel, and the jacket is stuffed with polyester insulation to lock in warmth, which makes it a great choice for cold days in the fall, winter, and spring.
Flint and Tinder is known for its waxed canvas jackets, but the Mason is unwaxed. Although the plain canvas lacks the water resistance of its waxed counterpart, it’s much easier to care for: You can just toss it in the washing machine like a normal hoodie. And like any canvas, the Mason’s fabric is incredibly durable and abrasion-resistant, so you can expect many years of wear from this jacket.
The Mason might look familiar to you—it’s very similar to Carhartt’s classic J140 jacket. There are a few important differences between them, however. The J140 is made from 100% cotton duck canvas, which lacks the built-in stretchiness of the FnT jacket’s spandex-blended shell (though you could argue the Carhartt canvas is tougher, as spandex lacks durability). In addition, the Carhartt jacket features a flannel body lining, whereas the Mason uses a smooth all-nylon lining. Overall, the Mason has a more streamlined silhouette and isn’t as bulky as the J140, which has a roomy fit in the body and sleeves.

What Shoppers Are Saying
Huckberry shoppers report the Mason packs serious warmth with the bulletproof build quality you’d expect from Flint and Tiner, and they also love its overall fit and feel.
One shopper said wearing the jacket felt “like a warm hug on a cold day,” and another reviewer agreed, calling it “toasty.” In addition, shoppers highlighted its “sturdy” build, and they loved its fit. It’s roomy enough to give you a great range of motion, but it’s not baggy or slouchy. “The ribbed cuffs keep the fit dialed in perfectly,” said one.
