How to Score New SNICKERS Ice Cream Bars and Carnell Tate’s ‘Chill Chain’
Carnell Tate hopes to be able to change how an NFL team attacks defenses this fall.
First the former Ohio State receiver wants to help football fans attack hunger (and satisfy their sweet tooth) in a new way this spring.
With the NFL Draft approaching, Tate has partnered with SNICKERS Ice Cream to promote a limited edition frozen treat and show off an icy piece of memorabilia.
Staying cool on a big night
NFL.com projects the 6-2, 192-pound Tate to be an early impact player at the next level, and he is expected to be taken in the top 10 or 15 when the 2026 NFL Draft begins April 23.
When he takes the stage in Pittsburgh after hearing his name called, he will do so with a SNICKERS Ice Cream “Chill Chain” representing his partnership with the iconic candy brand — but that’s not all.
SNICKERS Ice Cream is rolling out a “Crunchy Peanut Butter” edition that complements the original version with even more peanuts both in the ice cream and the chocolate coating it.
Men’s Journal got a sample of the "Chill bars," and they definitely live up to the hype. If you love the original, you’ll want to give these a try — and if you act fast, you could do so without handing over any of your hard-earned cash.
That’s because Tate is partnering with the brand to make them available to lucky fans who visit SNICKERS.com/Chill starting today.
How to get free ice cream
There will be three opportunities to get a free SNICKERS Ice Cream x Carnell Tate Chill Bar 6-pack (including three original bars and three of the new extra-peanut-packed version): Noon April 15, noon April 20 and noon April 24, so don’t fret if you miss out on day one.
“With all the mock drafts and round-the-clock commentary, the pressure is real, but you can’t let the noise get to you,” Tate said in a press release. “I’m focused on staying cool and confident by partnering with SNICKERS Ice Cream. Together, we’re helping everyone keep their chill and take a break from the hot takes.”
He added the Chill Chain is designed to be a reminder to “keep cool even when things get heated.”
That is something Tate knows about, having delivered some big plays under pressure last season when he caught 51 for 875 yards and scored nine touchdowns as a junior last season.
The Chicago native made the All-Big Ten first team and earned multiple second-team All-America nods despite being slowed in the latter part of the season by a leg injury.
Arguably his biggest moment of 2025 came Nov. 30 in snowy Ann Arbor, Mich., when Tate got behind the Michigan defense and hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass that gave the Buckeyes a 24-9 lead in a game the would win 27-9.
That earned him a gold pants charm that goes to all Ohio State players who are part of a win over the Wolverines, but he’ll have a new piece of jewelry on draft night — at least for a little while.
