"Some of us have never met before," Glover told the crowd. "And you know whose fault that is, ours."
He paused before continuing.
"So let's choose to do this. Let's be this more. Let's be neighbors."
Glover, a man of faith, grounded the message in something deeper. "I don't know if you heard me say it, but God told us to love him with all that we are and love our neighbors as ourselves," he said.
Glover was one of four astronauts aboard NASA's Artemis II mission, which splashed down Friday at 8:07 p.m. ET in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego after a 10-day journey around the Moon. At the crew's reunion Saturday at Johnson Space Center in Houston, Glover delivered another emotional message — thanking God publicly and extending his love not just to his family but to everyone in the room.
