Missouri lands Providence transfer Jamier Jones
By JAMES MADDEN
Dennis Gates and Missouri have landed another commitment from a highly-coveted transfer, per reports. Providence transfer Jamier Jones is headed to Columbia to play for the Tigers, his father Antonio confirmed to ZAGSBLOG.
In his freshman season at Providence, Jones averaged 11.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Friars.
Jones served as a starter for the majority of the season but announced his intentions to transfer earlier in the offseason following the firing of former Providence head coach Kim English.
He’s Missouri’s second transfer portal addition of the offseason, joining Tennessee transfer Jaylen Carey, who committed to the Tigers on Monday. In addition to the two transfers, Missouri will also bring in a loaded recruiting class headlined by top-five recruit Jason Crowe Jr.
