Syracuse continues to make moves under new head coach Gerry McNamara
Four-star Class of 2026 prospect Ryan Moesch will play for the Orange next season, he announced on X on Tuesday.
“I think choosing Syracuse was easy because of Coach [McNamara], Moesch told ZAGSBLOG. “I trust him and know I will be in a good spot with Coach.”
Originally a Siena commit, Moesch is following McNamara to Syracuse.
The 6-foot guard played high-school at Cushing Academy (MA) and AAU ball for Middlesex Magic.
“Super excited for Ryan to be taking his ability to Syracuse to play in the ACC with Gerry McNamara I think that coach player relationship is a perfect fit,” Middlesex Magic coach Mike Crotty told ZAGSBLOG about Moesch. “Ryan Moesch is easily one of the best ball handling shiftiest and most elite ball screen DHO plavers we’ve ever had. He certainly gives a lot of of he’s reminiscent of former magic player Tyler Kolek when he plays in that screen the way he manipulates defenses holds defenders on his head. He has every pass, hook passes, wrap-around, and his overall decision-making ability and his ability to get separation from the defense is what I think is gonna allow him to be a really good player for Gerry and the Syracuse Orange right away. He let us to another top four finish at Under Armour and saw him consistently outplay four and five star guards so as a program, we couldn’t be more thrilled for Ryan and we’re really excited for his next step in the journey.”
Syracuse was recently able to retain 2025 freshmen Kiyan Anthony and Sadiq White and the Orange also added Siena transfer Gavin Doty, Temple transfer Aiden Tobiason and McNeese State transfer Garway Dual.
