GOP senator calls out lawmakers accused of sex abuse
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) advised older men to avoid inappropriate conduct with younger women following the resignations of Reps. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) and Tony Gonzales (R-TX) over sexual misconduct allegations.
Johnson stated there are "lines you do not cross," and called such behavior "grotesque" and "totally inappropriate," emphasizing accountability.
He extended this sentiment to the Epstein case, supporting accountability for victims and perpetrators. However, Johnson expressed skepticism about the Epstein investigation's transparency, questioning whether all documents have been preserved or "doctored" and suggesting they remain "in the hands of the radical left."
Johnson doubted the full truth would emerge, comparing it to classified JFK assassination files.
His comments arise amid scrutiny of Trump's own Epstein connections, including 1990s photographs together and Trump's previous "terrific guy" characterization. Trump has denied wrongdoing and tried to sue the Wall Street Journal for $10 billion over its reporting.
