Mark Dowdle Wins BPN's 2026 Go One More Ultramarathon
This past weekend, the BPN G1M Ultramarathon took place within the gates of Bare Ranch in Central Texas. In case you haven't heard of it, it's an invitation-only, backyard-style ultramarathon hosted by Bare Performance Nutrition (BPN) and founder Nick Bare at his private Texas property. This year, ultra-endurance athlete Mark Dowdle came out on top, claiming the title after completing 306 miles across the span of four days.
Even if you’ve never run an ultramarathon, you’ve likely seen the notorious "Go One More" hats worn by athletes and fans alike. That phrase is the motto of BPN, which captures the mindset at the event's core: pushing beyond mental and physical limits. No doubt, that philosophy was on full display throughout the grueling weekend.
The G1M Ultra features a 4.2-mile loop laid out across the ranch. Runners must complete one lap every 60 minutes, continuing hour after hour for as long as they can endure. The goal is simple in theory, but rather punishing in practice: to be the last man standing. This year, 172 athletes participated, with the race starting on April 10 and stretching into its fourth day before a winner was decided.

In the end, Dowdle and fellow ultra runner Kendall Picado Fallas were the last two athletes standing after more than 300 miles. Despite impressive performances from each athlete, Dowdle took the win, completing 73 laps, totaling 306 miles. Fallas finished just behind him with roughly 303 miles.
Dowdle uses extreme endurance events like the G1M Ultra as a way to explore resilience, discipline, and mental toughness, per his website. His victory and displayed sportsmanship served as a pure masterclass in both physical and psychological endurance. Such an achievement is even more impressive given he is not a full-time professional runner, balancing multiple part-time jobs while competing at an elite level.
"I have a belief that you are far more capable than what you're currently doing," Dowdle shared in a recent Instagram clip. "I'm far more capable than what I'm currently doing. And it's through these experiences that I get to live that out."
Congratulations to Dowdle on the victory, and to all the athletes who pushed their limits this year at Bare Ranch.
