Graco Recalls Popular SnugRide Turn & Slide Car Seat
A popular car seat is getting recalled. American baby products company Graco is voluntarily recalling a select number of SnugRide Turn & Slide products "due to a structural issue identified during a post-production laboratory test." This recall affects certain items sold in the US between January and March of this year through the following sellers: Amazon, Target, Walmart, Babylist, and GracoBaby.com. Graco reassured consumers in a statement on its site on April 13 that no other SnugRide models would be pulled from shelves, nor would other popular rotating car seats like EasyTurn and Turn2Me.
If you purchased a SnugRide Turn & Slide product in the aforementioned time frame and through one of the above major retailers, you can complete a recall process to get a replacement at no cost.
For starters, you must confirm that the model number matches one of the recalled products. Then, stop using the car seat with the complementing base. Thirdly, you must take a clear photo of your product with the label showing on the base. Lastly, fill out the registration form at the bottom of Graco's recall landing page to receive your replacement product for free. You'll need to add your model and serial numbers to the form to ensure your item is on the recalled list.
The recalled products list includes every color option of the SnugRide Turn & Slide Rotating Infant Car Seat, the Car Seat Base, and the Modes Nest Travel System with SnugRide Turn & Slide ICS. Graco notes that the stroller in the latter product is not affected.
"At Graco, the safety of children and the trust of parents and caregivers are at the heart of everything we do," Graco said in its safety notice. "We know parents rely on Graco products every day, and we understand this may create frustration and disruption for families. We are working quickly to support affected families."
