Rock Legend Releases New Live Album Nearly a Year After His Death
Legendary Beach Boys member Brian Wilson is releasing a new live album nearly a year after his death on June 11, 2025.
The album, On Tour: 1999-2007, is being released exclusively for Record Store Day on April 18, and it contains rare recordings from the "Surfin' Safari" singer's world tour following his iconic concerts at the Roxy Theatre in 2000. Tracks come from shows at UCLA's Royce Hall as well as CenterStaging Burbank and the Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Festival Hall in London, and one show at an unnamed venue in Chicago.
The tracks range from classic Beach Boys tracks to songs from Wilson's solo career to covers of rock classics. Beach Boys fans will recognize live versions of "Friends," "The Night Was So Young," "Busy Doin' Nothing," and "Forever" — a tribute to his late brother and bandmate Dennis Wilson, who tragically drowned in 1983 at age 39. He also cover's Chuck Berry's classic "Johnny B. Goode" and The Beatles' "She's Leaving Home."
