Alienware’s new $350 OLED just reset gaming monitor prices
I’ve been watching OLED gaming monitor prices fall for years. In a tech landscape ravaged by memory and storage shortages, it’s basically the only category that’s still going down in price. There was a $400 floor for OLED monitors, at least among name brands… but that’s changed now.
The new Alienware AW2726DM is pretty standard for an OLED gaming monitor in 2026. When I first saw it at Dell’s promotional event, I correctly guessed the specs based on the popular panels on the market: 27 inches, 2560×1440 resolution, 240Hz refresh rate. There’s nothing special in terms of I/O either, with two HDMI ports and a single DisplayPort plus a headphone jack. It’s a slightly slower, slightly less-capable version of the AW2723DF that was announced last year, which can be overclocked to 280Hz.

But this monitor is a big deal—because it costs $349.99. That’s the suggested retail price, not a promotional sale price. It’s the first time I’ve seen an OLED gaming monitor approach the same value territory as an equivalent VA or IPS gaming display. For comparison, Alienware’s slightly faster OLED with same size and resolution is currently $500.
Dell told me that this QD-OLED panel is supplied by Samsung, that it has a 200-nit brightness rating (low for a monitor but not unheard of for an OLED panel—the AW2723DF is only 250 nits), and it’s compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium. Other basic specs include a DCI-P3 color coverage range of 99 percent, support for HDR10. It includes some basic protections against OLED burn-in and qualifies for a three-year warranty against burn-in for the panel. The built-in stand features “height, tilt, swivel, and pivot adjustability,” but of course it also has a standard VESA mount if you want to add your own monitor arm.

This will certainly be a popular option for PC gamers who want an OLED upgrade, as all of Alienware’s OLED monitors have been thus far. Hopefully it’ll push the broader market down in price, too. It’s available now on the Dell/Alienware online store. We’ll have a review available soon on PCWorld.
