Trump Turns on Yet Another Ally Who Implied He Lacks 'Humility' amid Fallout Over AI Image of Him as Jesus

Donald Trump has turned his back on yet another former ally who has spoken out against his recent decisions.

On Sunday (April 12), the 79-year-old president even shocked members of his base when he shared an AI-generated photo that seemingly depicted him as Jesus Christ, the son of God in the Christian faith.

The photo has since been deleted, and the president alleged that any offense caused was accidental as he thought that he was depicted as a doctor in the image.

However, the damage had already been done, and one prominent ally addressed the post, saying that Trump lacked “humility.” In interview after the fact, the president insulted his ally for her opposition.

The ally in question was anti-trans activist Riley Gaines. She reshared a screenshot of Trump‘s post on X, writing, “Why? Seriously, I cannot understand why he’d post this. Is he looking for a response? Does he actually think this?”

Continuing, she added, “Either way, two things are true. 1) a little humility would serve him well 2) God shall not be mocked.”

Trump was unimpressed. While addressing the scandalous photo during an interview with CBS News, he was asked if Gaines had inspired his decision to pull the picture.

“I didn’t listen to Riley Gaines. I’m not a big fan of Riley, actually,” he said, via Newsweek.

Despite his claims Trump previously praised Gaines, a former college swimmer, in February 2025 while signing an executive order regarding trans participation in women’s sports.

He recognized Gaines as “a tremendous athlete,” going on to imply that some people thought “she was the leader” in pushing for Trump to take action on the topic.

Gaines returned to X after Trump‘s diss, revealing that he hadn’t lost her support.

“I love the President and I’m so grateful he’s in the Oval Office. Of course, I’ll continue to support him and the America First agenda,” she wrote. “At the end of the day, I do nothing for the approval of man. Our purpose on this earth is to glorify Him in all we do. The truth social post missed the mark. It’s now deleted. Amazing!”

The athlete continued, writing, “We’re imperfect people. I know I am. I don’t get my feelings hurt easy and I know with the President it’s really not personal. I want to spend eternity in a real place called Heaven. I’d love for Trump to be there too.”

“Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. I’ll keep doing my part by speaking truth & doing my best to lead others to Christ,” she said, adding that she would not “be selling merch with [Trump's] insults on them hahaha.”

Trump has turned on multiple long-term allies recently, going as far as to brand four prominent stars in conservative media as “losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA.”
