Dreadful Fears
During the Great Depression, newly-elected President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, at his first inaugural address in 1933, spoke a line that still lives in infamy. The President stated metaphorically that we have nothing to fear but fear itself. There was nothing profound about that quote except that the majority of people in America were already afraid, beaten down by the government, and a rapidly escalating financial collapse across the country. The fear was very real. The impending doom was thick with despair, a complete lack of trust in a rigged system that got them into that Depression/WWII mess their elected leaders created in the first place.
They didn’t care about the truth or the people back then, and now today, obviously nothing has changed. Same tired old lies. If you’ve been around for a few decades, you realize the frightening fact that wars have occurred throughout our entire lifetime. All of them were bad for everyone. With rare exceptions, the military, international banks, oligarchs, dictators, and the war machine manufacturers are always sitting pretty. They’re bloated and rich.
What’s happening right now around the globe is the scariest and closest we’ve ever been to WWIII. Some call it Armageddon. A holy war between nations whose opposing gods cannot get along with each other’s personal beliefs. There’s more death and destruction in the name of God than anything else in history. Which gods? Your God? Others call it an apocalypse, worse than Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined, plus a few more nuclear weapons of mass destruction thrown in. Death by nostalgia. Nothing says patriotic more than Bible-humping, flag-groping money changers, diddling children, doing their dirty money laundering in broad daylight.
Add more fanatical religious nonsense, and you have the hard, crusty facts. Like being hit in the head with a day-old loaf of bread. It's going to leave a bruise. Asking the worst criminals to hold other, even more evil criminals accountable for their actions or lack thereof is where we’re at. Meet the new dictator. He’s a real villain. But there are so many more in their elite predator class. It’s a slap in the face.
On Easter Sunday, just for effect and maximum negative impact, Trump said he’d wipe out Iran, sending their entire civilization back to the Stone Age. Nothing like a little mass annihilation to stir the blood and rile the warmongers into a feeding frenzy. Nuclear devastation is a good way to stir the pot for dramatic effect.
The day after that proclamation threat to Iran, I was angry. The same anger I feel when people I know die. The threat’s real. I’ve never felt closer to doomsday than today. It’s juggling in the air by the hands of the worst possible enemies of freedom and life at large.
Point the finger, accuse the war criminals! A case of fait accompli. You should just roll over and accept your fate. There’s zilch anyone can do about this now. It’s too late. Guilty as the rest to allow this path of our destruction to continue. You may wonder how things have gone so bad so quickly. We saw it coming a decade ago and did nothing. It’s still happening. We’re doing nothing. A bunch of nobodies in a nothing world trying to squeeze some sense out of the madness.
As if they could be sensible. A minority of old, perverse people are running the show into the dirt. We, the audience, the people, are trapped. The fire exit doors are locked, the windows are barred. The balcony’s burning. The only way out is through them. Tear it all down. Strike the stage. Shut it down. Close the show. Lousy ticket sales. Nobody’s above the law unless there is none. It’s not red versus blue, like the Civil War. It’s not about far-left or far-right extremism. Not only that, but it’s about right and wrong.
We were never on the same page with any of them, the corporate culture vultures of buying and selling souls on credit with interest compounded daily. This wasn’t our debt. Why allow this to continue another day? Why? I’m talking about a revolution. Not a violent insurrection. A final peaceful national protest so huge, a coup against tyrannical fascist overlords rendering them useless. We’re not pawns, but you could’ve fooled me.
So much damage already. These used car salesmen for Jesus. Never second-guess the power of stupid people. The dupes, rubes, and suckers are betting on better tomorrows and whooping it up. Just another crazy night at the carnival.
