Rashid Khan joins WCA players’ advisory board
Rashid Khan has been appointed as a new member of the players’ advisory board of the World Cricketers’ Association, marking a significant step for Afghanistan’s representation in global cricket governance.
The WCA announced updated changes to the board, emphasizing that the role and voice of players in shaping major decisions in international cricket will be further strengthened.
According to the statement, Rashid Khan joins the board alongside Chamari Athapaththu and Wayne Madsen, as well as Daryl Mitchell and Maddy Green.
The advisory board also includes prominent international players such as Pat Cummins, Jason Holder, Heather Knight, and Aiden Markram, who provide guidance on key issues affecting the sport worldwide.
The WCA said the changes follow recent consultations with national teams and are aimed at enhancing player influence over the future direction of the game.
The WCA players’ advisory board, established in 2018, serves as a key platform for representing the views and interests of cricketers from different countries.
It provides input on global scheduling, international competitions, and player welfare, helping shape policies across the sport.
Officials said stronger player collaboration at the global level is essential to ensure the long-term growth, sustainability, and success of international cricket.
