“I’m going to try and be really really careful and not flop down, not fall again, but one never knows!” she added.
While didn’t disclose a recovery timeline, Ann-Margaret said that she continues to work out with a physical trainer, but she’s had to modify her exercises due to the injury.
“Now I’m just doing things with my legs,” she said. “I have a gentleman that comes Tuesdays, Thursdays and sometimes Fridays [to help with] all sorts of exercises.”
She then noted that her trainer keeps her accountable.
“If I don’t do that, I’ll probably start saying, ‘Well, I don’t know. I’ve got a cold. I’ve got this, I’ve got that.’ But this man keeps me going,” she said.
Ann-Margaret talked more about her fall, which she casually brushed off.
“That’s okay. I have fallen so many times,” Ann-Margaret shared. “I don’t intend to, but I do! What can I say?”
She also credited her resilience to her family, saying,“I have always learned from my parents that you just get up. You just start all over again.”
“Nothing’s impossible I have found, for when my chin is on the ground. I pick myself up, I dust myself off, and I start all over again!” Ann-Margaret said, quoting the Jerome Kern standard “Pick Yourself Up.”
As of right now, Ann-Margaret is still expected to appear at the 2026 Chita Rivera Awards in New York City on May 16, where she will be presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
