‘Daredevil: Born Again’ Star Spoils Season Ending — Possible ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Connection
This article contains possible spoilers for Daredevil: Born Again season two.
Charlie Cox's second season as the Devil of Hell's Kitchen for the Marvel Cinematic Universe has gotten off to a great start. Fans have been responding extremely well to the first half of the current eight-episode run. The continuation series of Netflix's Daredevil hit an all-time high with its most recent release.
Episode 4, "Gloves Off," which premiered April 7, is the highest-rated TV episode in MCU history with a current score of 9.5/10 on IMDb. The season's fourth chapter featured an already iconic fight sequence starring Wilson Bethel as Bullseye and a shocking death that will drastically impact the story moving forward.
Daredevil Born Again S2 E4: “Gloves Off” is the best episode of this entire show. It is the single most confidently striking episode yet. Both in it’s own ability and it’s ability to honor the original Daredevil series while simultaneously enhancing today’s product.

Unfortunately, the show's white-hot momentum was just slowed down as the likely ending of season two was spoiled on Instagram by a star of the show. Several weeks earlier than intended, fans are now speculating about Daredevil's connection to Spider-Man: Brand New Day releasing July 31.
This is your final spoiler warning for Daredevil: Born Again season two!
Luke Cage star Mike Colter is confirmed to appear in the current season of Daredevil: Born Again along with the rest of Netflix's Defenders. Monday, Colter seemingly spoiled the ending of the show's season with an Instagram post that has since been deleted.
The post featured a photo of Colter, Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page) and Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock/Daredevil). The spoiler is the fact that Cox as Murdock is wearing a prisoner uniform in the photo at what looks like a prison. Daredevil ending up in prison is not a detail that has been revealed or hinted to at this point.

This very likely means that by the end of season two, Matt Murdock's identity will be revealed as Daredevil and he will be sent to prison.
This is even more plausible considering that there are multiple iconic comic book storylines following this same plot from writers like Ed Brubaker and Chip Zdarsky. The MCU will likely look to adapt these comic storylines for season three. Unless something happens in between the end and start of season two and three. What could that be?
Tom Holland's 4th Spider-Man solo film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases July 31, 2026. The first trailer for the film was released in March. Many fans are now drawing connections between the probable ending of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 and what was seen in the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
In the trailer, Spider-Man is seen battling a group of ninjas in a prison for a reason that is unknown. The most iconic group of ninjas in the Marvel universe are "The Hand," which are most recognizable as foes of Daredevil. So Spider-Man could be fighting villains associated with Daredevil in a prison in addition to the fact that we know Matt Murdock will most likely be in prison.

Is Spider-Man breaking Daredevil out somehow?
As strong as this possible spoiler seems, nothing has been confirmed. We probably won't truly know Matt Murdock's fate until the season finale airs on May 5. Daredevil: Born Again airs weekly with episode 5 releasing Tuesday, April 14.
If it does go the way it looks, we will see this summer if Peter Parker chooses to get involved when Spider-Man: Brand New Day releases.
