Cyprus firm launches mobile payment app for businesses
Cyprus-based software engineering company Pale Blue has announced the launch of its mobile payment solution Paid for businesses in Cyprus.
The company said that the application enables merchants to accept card payments directly from smartphones without requiring any additional hardware.
The platform uses NFC technology to transform modern smartphones into fully functional payment terminals.
Through tap-to-pay functionality, businesses can accept contactless payments by entering an amount and allowing customers to tap their card or mobile wallet on the device.
The solution has been developed with a focus on solo professionals, small businesses and SMEs, which often face challenges when adopting traditional payment terminals.
The company explained that merchants can begin accepting payments within minutes by linking an existing Stripe account or creating a new one.
Unlike conventional systems, Paid operates on a pay-as-you-go model, eliminating the need for hardware purchases, contracts or subscription plans.
Businesses are instead charged a small transaction fee per payment, with no monthly fees or setup costs.
The application is available on both iOS and Android platforms, allowing businesses to use it regardless of their preferred mobile ecosystem.
Through the app, users can manage transactions, send payment links, configure taxes or tips and track payouts directly from their device.
Additional features include predefined product catalogues, the ability to share payment links or QR codes and tools for managing multiple team members with customised permissions.
The platform is designed to support businesses operating in flexible or mobile environments, including market stalls, food vendors, freelancers, service professionals and event organisers.
The launch comes as contactless payments continue to grow globally, increasing demand for accessible and low-cost digital payment solutions.
Solutions such as Paid are helping smaller businesses adopt modern payment methods without the financial and technical barriers traditionally associated with point-of-sale systems.
The application is currently available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
