The Nostalgic Sweet Treat Giada De Laurentiis Calls ‘Phenomenal’ Just Landed at Costco
Costco has a way of turning even the most low-key snack into a blink-and-you-miss-it event, and right now, that honor belongs to a very specific nostalgic snack loved by the culinary queen herself, Giada De Laurentiis. We’re talking about Loacker wafers, of course. The Loacker Spring Minis Mix just hit Costco shelves nationwide, but you’ll have to act quickly if you want to grab a bag of the tasty, sweet treats that De Laurentiis once called “phenomenal.”
If you grew up around Italian pantry staples, you probably recognize the brand Loacker. The brand’s signature light, crisp wafers have long occupied that sweet spot between snack and dessert, indulgent but never overwhelming. Now, they’re available at every family’s favorite store, Costco, in a convenient 80-count bag of individually wrapped minis in three flavors that are perfect for spring: vanilla, lemon, and raspberry yogurt. The bag of minis retails for $12.89 and will be in Costco warehouses in the U.S. and Canada until the end of this month.
In 2025, Giada De Laurentiis partnered with Loacker as a brand ambassador, and unlike a lot of the celebrity partnerships you see these days, this one doesn’t feel like a reach because it’s a brand De Laurentiis has been eating since childhood. “I grew up eating Loacker with my family, so this partnership is a special one for me,” De Laurentiis said in a press release announcing the collab. “I can still remember tasting their light and crispy wafers in my childhood kitchen, where my nonna taught us the value of using pure Italian ingredients. To this day, I could list countless reasons why I love Loacker, from their phenomenal craftsmanship and traditions, to their high-quality ingredients – like 100% Italian hazelnuts. It’s an honor to be celebrating 100 years of Loacker with the entire Loacker family. I can’t wait to share all the surprises we have planned for this year!”
De Laurentiis even doubled down on the nostalgia with a sweet memory: “My mom bought chocolate hazelnut quadratini in giant bags from Italy so I could have them in my lunch box every day,” she told The Kitchn in 2025.
Of course, none of this would matter if the product itself didn’t hold up. But Loacker’s appeal has always been universal. The wafers are delicate without being so fragile that they crumble, sweet without tipping into excess, and filled with creams that actually taste like what they claim to be.
Whether you’re looking for a sweet surprise to pack in your kids’ lunch boxes or just want to stock your pantry with a snack-sized delight for when the late-night sugar cravings hit, the Loacker Spring Minis are the answer. Run to your local warehouse and grab a bag (or 3) before they’re gone.
