Match Preview: Queen’s Park

William Hill Championship
Queen’s Park vs Raith Rovers

Tuesday, 14th April 2026
7:45pm
City Stadium, Glasgow

After a massive three points at home to Morton on Saturday, Raith Rovers are back in action on Tuesday evening, traveling to Lesser Hampden to take on Queen’s Park.

Rovers 3-2 win over the Greenock side saw them move back above the Spiders in the Championship table, after they’d registered a 1-0 win over Ross County on the Friday evening.

Rovers now sit fifth and Queen’s seventh, and with Airdrie losing to St Johnstone in Perth at the weekend, there’s now a little more breathing room for Dougie Imrie and Sean Crichton’s sides, who now can’t finish bottom and are nine points clear of ninth with 12 to play for.

For the more glass half full supporter, there is also an outside chance of one of these teams finishing in the top four, although that would take an excellent run from either while hoping Arbroath or Dunfermline go on something of a slump between now and the end of the season.

Queen’s Park have enjoyed an upturn in form since Josh Fowler signed for St Johnstone in January, which seemed improbable at the time with Sean Crichton’s side struggling in the table, despite Fowler being one of the brightest attacking talents in the division.

Queen’s had won just four league games by the end of January and were just points off the bottom, but since then they’ve won six in 12 and look set to extend their time in the second tier.

Saturday’s win means Rovers are now on a run of three consecutive wins, their best run of form since December 2024, when they recorded wins over Livingston, Dunfermline and Queen’s Park.

This will be the fifth meeting between the sides this season, and Rovers third trip to the City Stadium.

The first meeting was the very first day of the league campaign which ended one all, with penalties from Michael Ruth and Dylan Easton ensuring the teams picked up a point apiece.

Rovers lost 2-1 in their first visit to Lesser in November, when goals from Josh Fowler either side of a Darragh O’Connor goal for Raith ended Barry Robson’s time at the club.

It was a different story in January though, when a hat-trick from Jack Hamilton and a goal from Josh Mullin sealed a fine 4-1 win over Queen’s.

Rovers won again just four days later in the quarter final of the KDM Evolution Trophy, although it was a much tighter affair in Glasgow.

Paul Nsio had given Rovers the lead, only for Fowler to equalise late on in his final game for the club.

Josh Rae was the hero in the shoot-out however, saving three penalties as Rovers advanced to the semis.

Tuesday evening’s match referee will be Kevin Clancy.

Head-To-Head Record:

Queen’s Park wins: 38

Raith Rovers wins: 57

Draws: 29
