To learn more about the inspiration behind the anniversary drop, we spoke with the Tupperware team to get their take on the milestone and what’s next for the brand. Check out our Q&A with Palenica, as well as Jeannine Welsh, Manager of Training & Activations, below.
SheKnows: What does hitting the 80-year milestone mean for Tupperware? Why do you think people still keep coming back to it after all these years?
Doug Palenica: So many of us have personal memories tied to the Tupperware brand from family meals and gatherings to learning to cook or simply opening the fridge and seeing something familiar. That emotional connection matters.
At the same time, the brand has continued to evolve. For 80 years, Tupperware products have been at the forefront of innovation in food prep and storage to help families reduce waste, save time, maximize space, and protect the quality of their food. That combination of trust, performance, and purpose is what makes this milestone so powerful.
In fact, our customer’s core needs haven’t changed. If anything, it’s more relevant than ever. People are more intentional about how they spend their time, and cooking at home is one of the smartest ways to stretch their dollars. Tupperware products deliver on that need by providing reliable, high-quality solutions that help people prep smarter, store better, and make the most of what they buy.
And in a world with endless choices, trust matters. The Tupperwarebrand is one people know, rely on, and come back to because it consistently delivers. Eighty years later, it’s still doing exactly what it was designed to do by continuing to make everyday life easier, more efficient, and a little more enjoyable.
SK: What made the Servalier Sunburst Seal such an important feature to highlight in the anniversary collection?
Jeannine Welsh, Manager of Training & Activations at Tupperware: While the Servalier Sunburst Seal wasn’t the very first seal created, it’s the one that instantly brings a smile, and a little nostalgia, when people see it. It reminds us of family favorites, like grandma’s potato salad, the chip bowl at every gathering, and those meaningful moments of connection in kitchens everywhere.
Highlighting both the iconic seal and its signature colors was a natural choice for the anniversary collection. It honors our heritage while showing that Tupperware products are just as relevant today, built to last, meant to be shared, and designed to create memories for generations to come.
SK: We’re seeing a big resurgence in retro home goods. Why do you think nostalgic kitchen products are resonating so strongly right now?
DP: There’s something powerful about using products that take you back to a moment that helped shape who you are. That feeling of “home” is about memory, emotion, and connection. Nostalgic kitchen products are resonating right now because people are craving that connection again. Life moves fast, and there’s comfort in coming back to something familiar, especially when it’s from a brand you trust.
But what makes it really exciting is the evolution. We’re paying tribute to the past while building on it to create something new. I like to call it “new-stalgia.” It’s the blend of trusted, iconic products with modern innovation, creating new memories in today’s kitchens.
At the end of the day, everything old is new again… but better. And when you bring people back to the kitchen table with products that spark those moments of connection, you’re creating lasting memories for the next generation.
SK: What else can we expect from Tupperware in the future?
DP: A continued evolution with the same trusted heart. You’ll continue to see new, elevated product lines including new stylish designs, continued expansions into materials like glass, and multi-functional solutions designed for today’s kitchens and lifestyles. At the same time, the Tupperware legacy of entrepreneurship is stronger than ever. Whether someone is looking for a flexible side hustle or a meaningful income stream, Tupperware continues to offer a low-barrier, community-driven business model that empowers entrepreneurs to build on their own terms.
And through it all, one thing won’t change, the quality, trust, and heritage that people have relied on for generations. Tupperware is honoring its legacy and keeping the magic alive by reimagining it for what’s next.
