Ashley Phillips has emerged as a real leader at the back for Stoke City in his second consecutive season on loan at the Potters.
In fact, the Tottenham youngster has been nominated for the Championship Young Player of the Year award in light of his consistent displays this term, but he had an afternoon to forget on Saturday.

The Potters extend their unbeaten home run to six games, with relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers emerging with a 1-1 draw from the Bet365 Stadium.
After being cautioned earlier in the game, Phillips made a clumsy challenge in the 86th minute as the away side were looking to counter-attack, thus earning a second yellow card.
The Tottenham Hotspur defender will now serve a one-match suspension at Wrexham on Saturday, which comes as a big blow to Mark Robins’ men, who are struggling for options at centre-back due to injuries.

Could Phillips be part of Spurs’ plans next season as relegation looms?
While the 20-year-old would be disappointed with his sending off, it should not take away from the fact that he is having another impressive season at Stoke.
Phillips is now nearing 100 appearances in the Championship, having already featured for Blackburn Rovers, Plymouth Argyle ahead of his two years at Stoke.
If Spurs do go down, which is now looking more than just a distinct possibility, the young centre-back’s experience in the second tier could make him a valuable player for the Lilywhites as they look to bounce straight back up.
