Albany-Saratoga Speedway Ready For 61st Season Of Action

Malta, NY – For more than six decades, racers and their machines along with the fans that adore them have made their way to Route 9 in Malta, New York looking for exciting action. It’s those beloved drivers and machines that would earn Albany-Saratoga Speedway the nickname that we all know so well – “The Great Race Place”.

The 2026 season will be the 61st season of action at the track and 14th since late track promoter Lyle DeVore brought the track back from the asphalt surface in 2012 with the “resurrection of dirt”. The new season will feature everything you have loved about the “Malta” schedule and much more.

Let’s take a look at some of the jammed packed, 24 event schedule.

Following inspection and practice sessions on Friday, April 3rd and Friday, April 10th, the season will kick off on Friday, April 17th with a bang as the stars and cars of the Super DIRTcar Series for Big Block Modifieds heads to town for a 61 lap, $6,100 to win event presented by Bart Contracting. The DIRTcar Sportsman and DIRTcar Pro Stock weekly divisions will also be on the card.

One week later on Friday, April 24th, the regular season begins for all divisions, including the DiCarlo’s Auto Body DIRTcar 358 Modifieds. The DIRTcar 358 Modified division will compete in nine events this season, with Hoosier Racing Tire DIRTcar Weekly Championship points on the line for all but the annual DIRTcar 358 Modified Series event, held during the Malta Massive Weekend in September.

The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series makes their first stop of the season on Friday, May 15th. All weekly divisions will be in action on Bolton Landing Night at the Races/Law Enforcement Night.

If you flip the calendar to June, you will find a pair of special events leading off the month. On Friday, June 5th the Xtreme DIRTcar DMA Midgets come to town. The full-sized midget division always puts on a great show at “The Great Race Place”.

One-week later race fans will be treated to the stars and cars of the Sprint Cars of New England…or SCONE Series. The June 12th event will be the first of two stops for the New England based 360 Sprint Car Series. They will also be on the program during Native Pride Night on August 7th.

While the season kicked off with a bang, the month of July will kick off with a pretty loud bang as well. The Albany-Saratoga Speedway will honor our great military on July 3rd and present a large fireworks display.

The winged-warriors of the Empire Super Sprints will be in town on Friday July 17th. All weekly divisions will be in action.

July will come to an end with two events near and dear to the heart of everyone at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway.

First, on July 24th, it will be the 6th annual Stan Da’ Man Night. The night is run every year in honor of the late Stan DeVore, father of Lyle DeVore. The DIRTcar Modifieds will compete for $3,200 to win and $320 to win heat races. Extra money will also be on the line for the DIRTcar Sportsman, DIRTcar Pro Stocks and Street Stock divisions.

Then on Friday, July 31st, on what would have been his 55th birthday, the Albany-Saratoga Speedway honors our legend, the late Lyle DeVore. The “A Legacy Laid In Clay” event will pay the DIRTcar Modified division $5,500 to win and go 55 laps. It will be presented by John Ray & Sons. All divisions, including the DIRTcar 358 Modified and Four-Cylinder divisions, will be in action.

On August 14th the track will honor the late Jason Herrington with the Flying Farmer 31 for the DIRTcar 358 Modified division. The event will pay $2,531 to win. All divisions will be in action.

The points paying season for the DIRTcar sanctioned divisions will come to an end on Friday, August 28th.

The biggest pay-day in all of DIRTcar Pro Stock racing will once again be rewarding drivers during the running of the 5th Annual Upstate Chevy Dealers Autism Acceptance Race on September 4th as they compete for $10,000 to win. All divisions will be in action and it will be the final night of points for the non-DIRTcar divisions.

On Friday, September 18th the Chris & John Grady Memorial Night will take center stage. The Grady family were staples at the track since the early days and on this night, they will honor both men. The Independent Vintage Racing Association (IVRA) Series will be on the card as well.

The season will come to a close with the biggest racing weekend of the year, the annual Malta Massive Weekend.

Action kicks off on Friday night, September 25th with the afore-mentioned DIRTcar 358 Modified Series plus the DIRTcar Sportsman Championship Series, the Street Stock and Four Cylinder divisions.

Then on Saturday night, September 26th the Super DIRTcar Series for Big Block Modifieds returns for a 75 lap, $7,500 to win event. The DIRTcar Pro Stock Series and Limited Sportsman division will also be on the card. The Limited Sportsman will race for $500 to win.

For the 2026 season the weekly divisions will include the Next Generation Roofing DIRTcar Modifieds, Ideal Excavating DIRTcar Sportsman, Saratoga Masonry Supply DIRTcar Pro Stocks, Haun Welding Limited Sportsman and Cornell’s Auto Parts Street Stocks. The DiCarlo’s Auto Body DIRTcar 358 Modified and Greg’s Towing & Repair DIRTcar Four Cylinders will compete on selected weeks.

The management team of Albany-Saratoga Speedway would like to express their appreciation for all returning and new sponsors for 2026 and ask that you please support them in any way you can.

Each week pit gates will open at 3:00 pm and the Grandstands at 5:00 pm.
