Watch: Five Injured as Helicopter Crashes on Crowded Beach

At least three people have been hospitalized, and five are injured after a helicopter lost control and crashed as onlookers on a popular beach looked on in utter disbelief.

KTLA obtained footage that shows the moment the helicopter hovered just above a row of palm trees in Huntington Beach, California, before losing control and crashing. The horrifying footage sent beachgoers scattering.

The Los Angeles news station reports that at least three people have been hospitalized as a result of the crash, which was reported just after 2 p.m. in the Waterfront Beach Resort.

ABC7 reports that the helicopter crashed in front of the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

It's reported that the three people who are hospitalized were walking on the street when the crash occurred. The extent of the injuries is not known.

Two people were aboard the helicopter and were reportedly safely pulled from the wreckage.

The cause of the crash is unknown, and the crash is under investigation.
