Schenectady woman charged with 33 counts of animal abuse
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A Schenectady woman has been arrested for alleged animal abuse, according to the Schenectady Police Department. Tiffany Johnson, 41, faces numerous counts of several charges.
Johnson allegedly had 38 dogs in her home for breeding purposes, with authorities describing the living conditions as "deplorable." She was arrested on September 11.
The 41-year-old was charged with 33 counts of overdriving, torturing and injuring animals and failure to provide proper sustenance. She also faces 28 counts of having unlicensed dogs.
According to Schenectady Police, 27 of the 38 dogs were rehomed by Johnson. Six were seized by the Schenectady Police Animal Control Unit.
