Saratoga Co. holding county-wide Narcan training, 30 locations
SARATOGA COUNTY, (NEWS10) -- Saratoga County is hosting 30 different Narcan trainings and distributions throughout the county on August 26. The events are being held to bring awareness to overdose prevention and to recognize International Overdose Awareness Day, which is August 31.
Participants of a training receive a free Narcan overdose rescue kit in addition to learning how to spot the signs of an overdose and how to administer the nasal spray. The training takes 10 minutes, and below is a list of locations and hours for the county-wide trainings.

Narcan is a medication that reverses the effects of an opioid overdose. Anyone who administers Narcan to someone experiencing an overdose should immediately call 911, as New York State's 911 Good Samaritan Law allows people to call 911 without fearing they might be arrested.
