Man hospitalized after shooting in Concordia
CONCORDIA (KSNT) - Police are launching an investigation in Concordia after a man was injured in a shooting last weekend.
The Concordia Police Department (CPD) reported in a press release that officers were called around 11 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 17 to the 300 block of East First Street due to a shooting. Law enforcement arriving at the scene found a man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
CPD officers and personnel with the Concordia Fire Department began life-saving measures at the scene before taking the gunshot victim to a local hospital for treatment. Police talked to witnesses and identified people believed to be connected to the shooting as part of the investigation.
The CPD reports there is no immediate danger to the community and is working with other law enforcement agencies to make an arrest in connection to this shooting. People who have information to share with police regarding this incident are encouraged to call the CPD at 785-243-3131.
