Livingstone On 'Very Positive' Aberdeen Victory
Rosie Livingstone is eager to impress following her first full pre-season in over two years as the Hibees begin their ScottishPower Women's Premier League title defence.
The young forward netted twice inside 14 minutes at Meadowbank Stadium on Sunday afternoon as Hibs took down Aberdeen by five goals to one during the weekend's televised encounter.
Her two quick-fire goals was only part of the reason Livingstone earned our Central Taxis Player of the Match award, with her non-stop energy and smart attacking play key to our big win.
"It was a hard team to come up against Aberdeen and it couldn't have gone better," she told Hibs TV.
"We scored five goals in the end and conceded one, so we’ve got to still go back and analyse that one and see where we went wrong. But it was definitely a very positive start to the season.
"It's been actually really nice, I've not had a pre-season for the past two years just due to injuries," Livingstone added. "It was like a clean slate.
"The chance to play in pre-season is a perfect opportunity to just build those relationships that I tried to last year, as it was probably more of an impact sub situation that I was last year.
"I tried my best to contribute as much as I could but this year I really want to start strong and on the front foot, so hopefully I can just stay consistent with it, I think that's my my main focus."
Following a superb start to the campaign for Rosie and the girls, next up is a trip to Springburn to take on Partick Thistle at Petershill Park.
Thistle come into the new season with several new signings made and a new manager at the helm. Despite the unknown threat, Livingstone is optimistic heading into the fixture.
"Petershill Park is not always the most fun place to go to, but to have that done by the end of next week will be nice.
"Hopefully it’s a positive result from us to lead us into a nice wee week away for the Champions League that we're all really looking forward to.
"But our focus is still just now on Partick Thistle."
