Oregon family of 5 found dead in apparent murder-suicide
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) – A family of five is dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Josephine County, according to Oregon State Police.
All five deaths were discovered inside the home on Hussey Lane in the Pickett Creek area on Monday morning after deputies said they received a request to perform a welfare check on someone who had not shown up to work that day.
Josephine County deputies and OSP officers entered the home after “observing suspicious conditions around the premises.”
It appeared that all five residents — a 40-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman with three children ages 7, 9, and 11 — had all been shot and killed, according to investigators.
Officials said the deceased man, Chad Scott Behee, is now the suspect of the murder-suicide incident.
OSP is leading the investigation with the assistance of the Grants Pass Police Department.
