Lafayette woman faces attempted murder charge in Scott shooting
SCOTT, La. (KLFY) -- A woman was arrested in connection with a shooting that occurred at a convenience store in the early morning on June 7 in Scott, authorities said.
Makiya J. Francis, 22, of Lafayette was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted second degree murder, illegal discharge of a weapon and resisting an officer, police said.
According to authorities, Francis is allegedly connected to a second shooting incident which occurred seconds after the homicide of Kylon Calais. The second shooting led to a seriously injured individual and property damage.
Information on Francis's bond has not been released. Police said more arrests are expected.
