East Greenbush CSD gets 4 new buses, garage lift
EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Students of East Greenbush Central School District have a new ride to school after the district purchased two 28-passenger and two wheelchair-accessible buses. The four buses are coupled with multiple upgrades to the district's Transportation Department garage.
District officials made the announcement of the new buses in a Facebook post on Friday, stating they received the buses on June 30. The buses were purchased with through the district's bus purchase revenue fund, which doesn't impact taxpayers.
The Transportation Department's garage also received a new lift to restore the district to having four functioning lifts for bus maintenance. Columbia High School, Goff Middle School, and the Transportation Department also have newly painted parking lines to make school arrival and dismissals safer.
The district is also seeking applications for bus drivers, and have begun interviewing candidates to replace a senior bus driver. Anyone interested in applying to be a bus driver, bus aide, or automotive mechanic can find an application on the district's website.
