Community to honor Robert Bornt at July 4 event
HOOSICK, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The North Hoosick and Hoosick Falls Fire Departments are honoring fallen fire chief Robert Bornt at this year's July 4 community event. It's taking place on Saturday, June 28.
Bornt was hit by a car in May on Route 7 in Pittstown while working on the job as a New York State Department of Transportation supervisor. Officials said both fire departments will be wearing T-shirts dedicated to Bornt, and his truck will be on the field with a memorial flag attached.
The event will take place at the Town of Hoosick Athletic Field. There will be a flea market, car show, carnival rides, and live entertainment.
The fireworks show is scheduled to begin at 9:30 p.m.
