How long Columbus cooling centers will be open during heat wave
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Columbus is in for a very hot end to June as the entire area is in the midst of a heat advisory but the city has responded to help residents.
The city's recreation and parks department announced that beginning on Tuesday, cooling centers will open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. until the heat subsides. Outdoor public pools in addition to spray grounds and fountains in Columbus will have extended hours from 1 to 8 p.m. beginning on Tuesday.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority also announced that fares will be waived through Wednesday.
Franklin County is under a heat advisory until 8 p.m. Wednesday with heat index values expected between 100 and 105 each day. The National Weather Service also warns of high humidity that could cause illness and much more.
