Lafayette man sentenced to 20 years for producing child pornography
LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A Lafayette man will spend the next two decades behind bars for producing child porn, prosecutors said.
Jaylen Mouton, 24, of Lafayette, was sentenced in federal court to 20 years in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release.
According to information presented in court, in the spring of 2024, Mouton met a girl on Instagram, began having sex with her and recording those sexual encounters. At the time, the girl was 14 years old.
Mouton was indicted in October 2024 and pleaded guilty to one count of production of child pornography on Feb. 21. He was originally charged with four counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and two counts each of production of pornography involving juveniles and carnal knowledge of a juvenile, all felonies.
