Pittsfield man arrested for allegedly stabbing 60-year-old
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (NEWS10) -- A Pittsfield man was arrested for allegedly stabbing a 60-year-old early Wednesday morning, the Pittsfield Police Department reported. Jason Wright, 40, reportedly faces multiple charges.
At around 2:52 a.m., Pittsfield police were dispatched to a multi-family residence on Woodlawn Avenue for a reported stabbing, officials said. Upon arrival, officers found a 60-year-old man with at least one stab wound, according to the department.
The victim was reportedly transported to Berkshire Medical Center. He is expected to survive despite the serious injury, Pittsfield police said.
Wright was arrested following an investigation into the incident, authorities said. Police believe the suspect and victim were known to one another. The 40-year-old was reportedly charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and assault and battery on a person aged 60 or over.
