Capital Region spring break activities, camps
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- Spring break is around the corner, and once it arrives, there are plenty of local activities to participate in. From day activities to week-long camps, there are several ways to keep kids busy during the break.
Below are some activities offered around the Albany, Troy, Schenectady, and Saratoga areas. Activities range from athletic camps to crafts and beyond.
Palace Theatre, Toy Story "Family Fun Day"
The Palace Theatre is hosting a special showing of Pixar's "Toy Story" on April 15 at 1 p.m. Tickets are free, and doors open at noon for children's activities and games. Albany Ninja Lab, Spring Break Camp
Albany Ninja Lab, located in Crossgates Mall, is offering a spring break camp. The camp runs from 9 a.m. to noon and is $75 for a single half-day or $299 for the entire week.
Kids ages 5 to 15 can participate in age-appropriate drills at the camp to develop their skills and strength. From running courses to station-based ninja training, kids remain engaged while they also tap into their inner ninjas.

Stuyvesant Plaza, April Break Adventures
Businesses in Stuyvesant Plaza have organized different spring-themed events for the week of spring break called "April Break Adventures." During the week, guests at the plaza can expect a pizza party, cookie decorating, exclusive shopping sales, and yoga sessions.
Haudenosaunee Traditional Smoke Dancers, Troy Public Library
The Troy Public Library and St. John's Episcopal Church are coming together to host Haudenosaunee Traditional Smoke Dancers on April 15 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy. The event starts at 3:30 p.m. All ages are welcome to watch Chris Thomas and his dancers perform a Haudenosaunee social dance exhibition.
The Arc of Rensselaer County, Making Friendship Bracelets
The Arc of Renssealer County will hold a bracelet-making session at the East Greenbush Community Library on April 16 from 10:15 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event is free, but officials ask for a $5 donation or a donation of supplies for bracelet-making.
The Arc of Rensselaer County said the event is a chance for children to interact with others with disabilities. Swapping bracelets is also highly encouraged.
Puppetry Camp, Schenectady Theatre for Children
The Schenectady Theatre for Children is hosting a week-long camp for kids about the world of puppetry. Kids will develop puppetry skills, learn about relative themes, and perform for friends and family at the end of camp.
The camp is held at the Schenectady Theatre for Children's studio in Via Port Rotterdam from April 14 through 18 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The student performance showcase is on April 19 at 1 p.m.

Earth Week Camp, miSci
The Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci) has a week-long spring break camp dedicated to Earth Week for kids in grades K-5. From April 14 through 18, children can learn about the planet, what's below its surface, and much more.
Children can be signed up for single morning classes from 9 a.m. to noon, single full-day courses from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., or the whole week. Admission is $49 for single morning classes, $59 for a single day, or $290 for the entire week.
Bounce House Blast, Princetown Church
Princetown Church on Gifford Church Road in Duanesburg is hosting a Bounce House Blast for families on April 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. Kids can jump out any pent-up energy and play games for free while parents enjoy food from a local food truck.
Fish stocking, Saratoga Spa State Park
Families are welcome to help the Saratoga Spa State Park restock fish in the park. Participants should meet at the Geyser Creek Picnic Area at 11:30 a.m.
Each participating family should bring a bucket to release one fish, as there's a limit of one per family. In addition to releasing fish, there will be demonstrations, crafts, and activities.

Spring Break Workshops, World Awareness Children's Museum
The World Awareness Children’s Museum has a week full of events where families can participate. Each day of the week, there's a different themed workshop, like painting, slime making, music, and storytime.
Tickets for activities can be purchased through the museum's website. General admission to the museum is $7 for adults and children over 12, and children under 12 are free.
