Batavia man going to prison for 20 years for production of child pornography
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- A Batavia man was sentenced to 20 years in prison and 15 years of supervised release after he recorded himself subjecting a young child to sexual contact, the U.S. Attorney's Office said Thursday.
Derek Hagen, 33, photographed and videoed himself engaging in sexual conduct with a victim between the ages of 4 and 8 between January 2018 and July 2021. He then distributed the images to others on the internet.
Hagen possessed around 50,000 images and videos of child pornography that others sent to him online. In three months in 2018, he worked at a childcare center in Brockport, N.Y. and produced and distributed explicit images of the children there.
Hagen was convicted of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography involving prepubescent minors.
