Taking a look back at record high temperatures in Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Wednesday reached a record high temperature of 76° for March 19 in Buffalo. The previous record was set in 2012 at 74°.
Overall, March has brought pleasant weather this year. Temperatures have mostly stayed above normal with little to no snow accumulation, despite a tendency for the last month of winter to feel like a frozen tundra.

March 2012 dominated record high temperatures. Prior to Wednesday, records lasted for nearly a week straight, with temperatures ranging between 73° and 82° over a six-day stretch.
The lowest temperature in the last twenty years, -7°, was hit in both 2015 and 2004. The record low in the city was -18°, hit in 1979.
On average, Buffalo has experienced 4.8 record high temperatures a year. On the flipside, it has only experienced .7 record lows a year, with the city seeing no record low temperatures between 2021 and 2024 and between 2006 and 2011.
