47th annual Shamrock Run brings thousands to downtown Portland
PRTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- The rain and cold did not stop thousands of runners from taking to the Portland streets for this year's Shamrock Run on Sunday morning.
Held in Southwest Portland, the 47th annual race included a half marathon, an 8K run, a 5K run, a scenic walk, as well as the Leprechaun Lap, a quick lap for kids.
"This is an incredible opportunity to be able to run in the half-marathon," said Nicole Ver Kuilen, who ran in the race with a prosthetic leg. "I'm training for the London Marathon, so this a great warm-up race for that."
