Gwendoline Christie Dons Menswear From Kim Jones Final Dior Homme Collection With Knotted Shoes at ‘After This Death’ Berlin Premiere
Gwendoline Christie is showing her allegiance to and love of her friend Kim Jones’ designs. The actor attended the Berlin premiere of “After This Death” on Wednesday. The screening took place during the Berlinale International Film Festival. On the red carpet, Christie went with menswear: she wore the opening look from the latest Dior Homme by Kim Jones collection: a black longsleeve turtleneck with a black satin coat worn in reverse as a skirt.
For shoes, Christie wore a pair of black patent leather loafers. The styles included a piece of satin fabric, knotted atop the toe cap. They feature no laces and a small heel.
The shoes were first season last month in the Dior Homme fall 2025 show in a variety of colors. Christie would know personally as she sat front row at that presentation. In fact, she wore the shoes herself while she watched the show. At the time, the shoes she wore had a light pink satin knot.
She isn’t the only one to wear them — now, twice. Robert Pattinson wore a head-to-toe look from the collection for the London premiere of “Mickey 17.” He wore a beautiful blue Dior Homme suit with the black-on-black knotted loafers. (It’s worth it to note that Pattinson also wore the shoe, with a brown silk knot, to the show.) As did Ethan Herisse who wore the shoe on the Critics Choice awards red carpet. Herisse was supporting his film “Nickel Boys.” J Balvin even wore the shoe to the Grammy’s.
The Dior Homme fall 2025 collection was a big moment for the brand: it was hailed as Kim Jones’ best for the label. it was later revealed that the range would be his last as Jones has departed from Dior. Dior womenswear designer Maria Grazia Chiuri is also expected to exist this year. According to rumor, Jonathan Anderson who is currently installed at Loewe, will replace them both. Dior and Loewe are owned by LVMH.
