AUSTIN (KXAN) -- There'll soon be more places for Austinites to get their fix of jalapeño ranch around town.
Chuy's is slated to open a new restaurant in south Austin later this year, according to permit filings with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The upcoming restaurant at 126 E. Ralph Ablanedo Drive is set to wrap construction in March, according to the permits.
The 6,500-square-foot restaurant will include both the service area and parking and is estimated to cost $3 million. It's the first location to open in the city of Austin following Darden Restaurants, Inc.'s $605 million acquisition of the brand in July 2024.
The Austin-grown brand opened its inaugural Chuy's location off Barton Springs Road in 1982 and has since expanded to approximately 100 restaurants across multiple states.
Recent Austin-area additions included Chuy's Mueller location, which opened in April 2024, and a Hutto restaurant that opened Jan. 21.
