Milton man sentenced for assaulting three-month-old
MILTON, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- 21-year-old Jacob Krall, of Milton, was sentenced to seven years in state prison after a three week trial for assaulting an infant, the Saratoga County District Attorney's Office announced on Thursday. Krall was convicted back in October.
Krall was found guilty of assaulting a three-month-old baby in his family at his Milton home in March 2023. The victim needed to be treated for brain injuries at Albany Medical Center for over a week as a result of the incident.
In addition to his maximum sentence, Saratoga County Court Judge James Murphy III ordered Krall to serve a three-year term of probation following his release. Judge Murphy also imposed a 15-year full stay-away order of protection for the victim and their mother.
"This is a tragic case where a three-month-old baby sustained abusive head trauma at the hands of Krall, which may have a lifetime impact on the child," said Saratoga County District Attorney Karen Heggen. "The maximum sentence imposed today by Judge Murphy is appropriate given the seriousness of the injuries sustained."
