Lake George man sentenced to 10 years for attempted child sex crime
LAKE GEORGE, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The U.S. Attorney's Office reported that Robert Cutter, 44, of Lake George, was sentenced on Monday to 10 years in prison for an attempted sex crime involving a child. Cutter pleaded guilty back in July.
As part of his plea, Cutter confessed to exchanging lewd texts with someone he thought was offering the sexual services of a 12-year-old girl, in an effort to eventually have sex with the child. He further admitted to driving to an agreed-upon location in Warren County to have sex with the minor on June 27, 2023.
Cutter was arrested by law enforcement after arriving at the meeting place. In addition to his prison time, he was ordered to serve 15 years of probation. He must also register as a sex offender following his release.
