The standout stocking stuffer is the Festive Sprout Whoopee Cushion, a playful twist on the classic prank toy.

Shaped like a sprout scanning for just £2, it’s being touted as the perfect way to add laughter to Christmas gatherings.

Another top pick is the Pass the Sprout Game, priced at £4, a festive take on “pass the parcel.”

The game features nine layers of surprises, including jokes and small toys, making it a popular choice for families and parties.

For those looking to add humour to less obvious places, the Sprout Novelty Toilet Roll has proven to be an unexpected hit.

At just £2, the toilet paper is decorated with sprout-themed designs and jokes, described as “a fun addition to any guest bathroom.”

The Works is also offering group games, like the Christmas Sprout Bingo, which is being hailed as an affordable way to bring people together during the holidays.

Costing £2, it’s a hit with shoppers, with one writing on Facebook: “Of course I got the sprout bingo!”

For partygoers, the Christmas Sprouty Pants Game is gaining traction.

This £3 tabletop game challenges players to blow sprouts through a Santa-themed target, promising hours of entertainment for groups of 2–6 players.

Even the practical items are drawing attention, such as the Festive Sprout Reusable Shopping Bag.

Priced at £1, it’s designed for carrying Christmas gifts or groceries and is an eco-friendly option that aligns with the season’s spirit.

Shoppers have been quick to comment on social media, with reactions ranging from “I’ve never had sprout bingo haha” to “They have wrapping too, I got some the other day.”

The popularity of these sprout-themed items shows how The Works is tapping into the trend for humorous, affordable Christmas gifts.

With the countdown to Christmas underway, these budget-friendly novelties are proving to be a hit with festive shoppers.

It comes after parents were scrambling to take advantage of a mega deal at The Works stores across the country, stocking up on packs of eight greetings cards for only a quid.

The retailer has a massive selection of colourful cards for boys and girls, featuring everything from cute kittens and puppies to jungle animals and Christmas icons.

Chuffed mum Marie Reeves shared the deal in a popular post on Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, a private Facebook group with 2.5 million members.

She said: “Got these cards from The Works, really good for when your children get invited to birthday parties.

“Really good quality too. £1 for eight cards, you can’t go wrong.”

And delighted shopper Laura Crowther agreed the deal was too good to miss: “This looks a great deal! Need to look out for a packet.”

The Works has hundreds of stores all over the country.

But delivery is free if you spend £30 but click and collect is free on orders over a tenner.

All the cards can be recycled at home, but remember to remove any parts that contain plastic, glitter, batteries, electronics or any other embellishments first.
