Central Avenue traffic reduced for water main repair
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Water Department began working to repair a leak on a water main on Central Avenue Tuesday afternoon. The work is taking place between North Allen and King Street.
Traffic has been reduced to one lane in both directions. Drivers are asked to find other routes. The work is expected to be completed by Thursday morning.
Crews are beginning with digging a valve at Everett Road and Central Avenue. The work is expected to be done by midnight. Traffic in the area will resume as normal by 7 a.m. Wednesday.
The water department does not anticipate customers losing service, though pressure decrease and minor discoloration may take place. If your water is discolored, you are asked to run cold water until it is clear.
Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the water department dispatch at (518) 434-5322.
