Shaker goes old school
Duda's punishing 32-yard run sets up two-yard TD plunge against La Salle
Ryan Duda is just as no-nonsense running the football for the Shaker football team as he is talking about it afterward.
The indelible image from Thursday's 20-6 Class A Liberty Division victory over La Salle came from Duda chugging along with tacklers all around him attempting to smack the football free.
Duda's punishing 32-yard run helped set the stage for his two-yard touchdown plunge with 3:07 remaining that finally put away La Salle.
Bolton fumbled away the ball on the first possession and the Cadets took advantage with a drive culminating with a three-yard touchdown pass from senior Joe Germinerio to sophomore John Germinerio.
Bolton scored on second-quarter touchdowns runs covering five and six yards to provide the Blue Bison a 14-6 halftime lead.
The Blue Bison maintained their lead by excelling on defense, led by linebacker Nick Brown (interception), defensive lineman Andrew Peterson and Barlow, and defensive backs Kyle Kessler and Andrew Nicholson as La Salle amassed just 161 yards on 54 plays.
